Reviews

This is a dual voltage 12V/5V 4W solar panel with 8000 mAH battery designed to power typical 12V max .6A battery operated trail cams or 5V max 2A battery operated security cameras. If your cams are 6V or 9V this will not work for you out of the box. It has 2 5.5x2.1 outputs for 12V and 5V and a center USB C input for charging. There is a 4 segment led battery condition display and 1/4-20 tripod mount on the back. There are several mounting options including a strap, tree and wall mounts. Since I was replacing an existing trail cam panel/battery that was not keeping up with winter sun I just used the 1/4-20 rear mount. For cabling there are 5.5x2.1 cables with 5.5x2.1 and 4.0x1.7 ends that should cover most trail cams. There is a 5.5x2.1 to USB C cable meant for use with a battery operated 5v security cam. My security cams use Micro USB so would require an adapter. These cables are long and while I did not measure them the 10' spec is likely accurate. Also included is a short USB A to C cable for charging.

As to performance so far I am pleased. This cam is pretty active recording 100 to 300 15 second night time videos with the added flash battery drain. For the test week it has been mostly sunny with one overcast day and the camera has been showing 100% battery late afternoon except for a 99% reading on the overcast day. While I will have to see how it responds to longer sun challenged periods, I am confident it is outperforming the setup it replaced. This setup is versatile for typical 12V trail cams or 5v security cams but not work if your application requires a different voltage or exceeds the amperage limits. We will need some more time to judge longevity but so far I am very happy with this panel battery combo.
